I thought it would be fun to share with you some of the funny things I hear children say in my work at a day nursery. Hopefully I'll do some more of these at some point.
The girl in this is around 3 years old.

I know I'm not great at getting gestures and postures right, but hopefully you'll appreciate the situation!

One little girl full of questions.

Some she should probably keep to herself

Oh, lots of children at this age are fascinated by body parts, and toileting. Questions like this are completely normal! :D

of course they are. it simply appears odd, Changing nappies and this random little kid comes up and watches.

it's more the watching that creeps me out. I've heard these sorts of questions before. but having to answer whilst their staring at someone's area does make it very awkward.

I'm used to it! :D
I usually deal with it by adopting an air of great disinterest. It is awkward in a way, because you don't want to give the child the idea that private parts of the body are bad; but you don't want to laugh and have them think there's something funny about it, either. :D

if you laugh once or twice they shouldn't pick up the idea it's a silly part of the body. just say you'll explain when their older. or maybe find them a book to read which gives them the information they want, however...it's a little....censored.

or, ask another member of staff for help. they can distract the child away from their question until your better prepared.
